LeadershipXchange

LeadershipXchanges will build cohorts of 8-10 students from both rural and urban backgrounds. These cohorts of future leaders will engage in a series of discussion and activity sessions, sight-seeing and service projects in the host community, and intentional efforts to continue collaborating post-exchange. The LeadershipXchange can be adapted to weekend, spring break, or full semester-long exchanges.

If you are a student enrolled at a 2 or 4 year undergraduate college or university and would like to express interest in joining a LeadershipXchange cohort please fill out this short application.

LeadershipXchange: Virginia

For our very LeadershipXchange, we decided to begin where in 1607 the earliest colony, Jamestown, was established. 170 years later, the colonies became a country called the United States of America, and elected their first president, who hailed from the same great state of Virginia.

Virginia has been the battleground for many of our country’s greatest struggles – economic, racial, and political. Today, Virginia faces political polarization and economic disparity that mirrors the rest of the country.

But from challenges arise opportunity, and no state knows that better than Virginia. Virginians are rising to the challenge of bridging divides to collaboratively envision a future where people from all backgrounds work together to achieve common goals.

The LeadershipXchange: Virginia training program invites students at universities and community colleges across the state to engage in collaboration and cooperation across the urban/rural divide. The training brings together participants from both rural and urban backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, race, religion, or gender.

If you are a student enrolled at a 2 or 4 year undergraduate institution in Virginia and would like to express interest in joining a LeadershipXchange cohort please fill out this short application.
